Look, we get it - nobody really reads these things. But we're a small shop that cares about your info, so here's the straight talk on how we handle your data.

Alright, so when you come to us for work on your ride, we're gonna need some basic stuff to keep track of who you are and what needs doing. Here's what we typically collect:

  • Personal Contact Info: Name, phone number, email address - the usual stuff so we can actually reach you when your car's ready.
  • Vehicle Details: Make, model, year, VIN, mileage. We need this to order the right parts and know what we're working with.
  • Service History: What we've done on your vehicle before, any recurring issues, parts we've installed. It's like your car's medical record.
  • Payment Information: Credit card details (though we don't store the full number), billing address, transaction history.
  • Diagnostic Data: When we plug into your ECU or run diagnostics, we pull error codes, performance metrics, that kinda thing.

We're not snooping around collecting weird stuff - just what we need to fix your car and run the business properly.

We're not selling your info to spammers or anything shady like that. Here's what we do with it:

  • Service Delivery: Pretty obvious - we use it to actually work on your car and keep you updated on the progress.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Booking you in, sending reminders so you don't forget (we've all been there).
  • Warranty & Records: Keeping track of work we've done in case something needs warranty coverage down the road.
  • Performance Recommendations: If we notice your vehicle could benefit from certain upgrades based on your driving style or current setup, we might reach out with suggestions.
  • Safety Recalls: If there's a recall on parts we've installed, we'll let you know ASAP.
  • Occasional Marketing: Yeah, we might send you promotions or newsletters, but you can opt out anytime - no hard feelings.

Bottom line - we use your info to do our job better and keep your vehicle running strong.

We keep your info pretty close to the chest, but there are a few situations where we gotta share it:

  • Parts Suppliers: Sometimes we need to provide your vehicle info to order specialized parts - especially for European imports where everything's gotta match perfectly.
  • Payment Processors: Your credit card info goes through secure payment gateways. We don't see or store your full card number.
  • Insurance Companies: If you're filing a claim for work we've done, we'll share relevant service records and invoices with your insurer.
  • Legal Requirements: If the law says we gotta hand over info (like for warranty disputes or legal proceedings), we will. Sorry, but we're not going to court over it.
  • Service Partners: If we outsource specialized work (like custom fabrication), the partner shop might need your contact info and vehicle details.

We don't sell your data to marketing companies or random third parties. That's just not our style.

Yeah, our website uses cookies. Not the chocolate chip kind (though that'd be cool). Here's the deal:

  • Essential Cookies: These keep the site working - like remembering you're logged into your account or what's in your cart if you're ordering parts.
  • Analytics: We use tools like Google Analytics to see how people use the site. Helps us figure out what pages suck and need improving.
  • Performance Tracking: See how fast pages load, where people are clicking, that sort of thing. Makes the site better for everyone.
  • Marketing Pixels: If you've visited our site and later see our ads elsewhere - that's retargeting cookies at work. You can disable these in your browser settings.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies if you want. Just know that some features might not work as well without 'em.

Under Canadian privacy laws (PIPEDA and all that fun stuff), you've got some rights when it comes to your personal data:

  • Access: You can ask to see what data we have on you. Just shoot us an email and we'll get you a copy.
  • Correction: If something's wrong in our records (like an old phone number), let us know and we'll fix it.
  • Deletion: Want us to delete your info? We can do that for most stuff, though we might need to keep service records for warranty and legal reasons.
  • Opt-Out: Don't wanna get marketing emails? Click unsubscribe or tell us to stop. No drama.
  • Data Portability: Want your service history in a format you can take elsewhere? We can provide that.
  • Withdraw Consent: If you gave us permission for something and changed your mind, that's totally fine - just let us know.

To exercise any of these rights, just contact us at service@runeblastodyssey.info or call (604) 555-7823.

We take security seriously - not gonna lie, data breaches scare the hell out of us. Here's what we do to protect your info:

  • Encrypted Storage: Your data's stored on secure servers with encryption. Not just sitting in a spreadsheet on someone's desktop.
  • Secure Payment Processing: We use PCI-compliant payment processors. Your credit card info never touches our systems directly.
  • Limited Access: Only employees who actually need access to customer data can see it. Not everyone in the shop has access to everything.
  • Regular Backups: We back up data regularly so if something goes wrong, we don't lose your service history.
  • Physical Security: Our office and server areas are locked down. Can't just walk in and grab files.
  • Software Updates: We keep our systems updated with the latest security patches. Yeah, it's boring but necessary.

That said, nothing's 100% secure. If there's ever a breach that affects your data, we'll let you know ASAP and tell you what happened.

This one's specific to what we do - performance tuning and diagnostics. When we plug into your car's computer, we're pulling a bunch of data:

  • ECU Data: Engine maps, fuel trims, boost levels, timing advances - all the technical stuff that makes your engine tick.
  • Error Codes: Any fault codes or check engine lights that are stored in the system.
  • Performance Metrics: How your car's actually performing - acceleration data, throttle response, AFR readings, etc.
  • Sensor Readings: Temp sensors, O2 sensors, MAP sensors - basically everything that tells us what's going on under the hood.
  • Custom Tune Files: If we've programmed a custom tune for you, we keep that file on record in case you need it reloaded or modified later.

We use this data to diagnose problems, develop custom tunes, and track performance improvements. It stays with your vehicle's service file and isn't shared with anyone unless you specifically ask us to (like if you're selling the car and want to provide the tune file to the buyer).

Some manufacturers are getting weird about aftermarket tuning. We won't share your ECU modifications with dealerships or manufacturers unless legally required to.

We use a few external services to run the business smoothly. They've got their own privacy policies, but here's what we use:

  • Email Services: We use email marketing platforms for newsletters and appointment reminders. They can see your email address and name.
  • Booking Software: Our online appointment scheduler stores your contact info and vehicle details to manage your bookings.
  • Accounting Software: Invoice and payment data gets processed through our accounting system for tax and financial record-keeping.
  • Cloud Storage: Service records and some vehicle data are backed up to secure cloud storage (encrypted, of course).
  • Google Services: We use Google Maps for directions on our site, and Google Analytics to see how people use the website.

All these services are legit companies with their own security measures. We wouldn't use 'em if we didn't trust them with our own data.

We don't keep your info forever - that'd just be weird and unnecessary. Here's our general approach:

  • Active Customers: As long as you're coming back for service, we keep your records active. Makes everything smoother when you return.
  • Inactive Accounts: If we haven't seen you in about 7 years, we'll archive or delete most of your personal info. We might keep basic service records for longer if required by law.
  • Financial Records: Tax laws require us to keep invoices and payment records for 7 years. Can't get around that one.
  • Warranty Work: We keep records of warranty-covered work for the duration of the warranty plus a bit longer, just in case there's a dispute.
  • Marketing Lists: If you unsubscribe from emails, we remove you from the marketing list but might keep a record that you opted out so we don't accidentally add you back.

If you want your data deleted sooner, just ask. We'll do what we can within legal requirements.

Look, privacy policies can be confusing. If you've got questions about how we handle your data, or if you want to exercise any of your rights (access, deletion, correction, whatever), just reach out:

Email: service@runeblastodyssey.info

Phone: (604) 555-7823

Mail: 1847 Industrial Way, Unit 12, Vancouver, BC V6M 3R5

We'll get back to you within a couple business days. If you've got a complaint about how we've handled your data and we can't sort it out, you can file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Policy Updates: We might update this policy from time to time - usually when laws change or we add new services. If we make major changes, we'll send you an email or post a notice on the site. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
